The Castle Creations Sidewinder 3 with 1406 4600Kv Brushless Motor Combo is a powerful 1/10-scale system designed for on-road cars, 2WD stadium trucks, buggies, and select 2WD short-course applications.

The included 1406 4600Kv motor is sensored and rebuildable, while the Sidewinder 3 ESC provides Castle's programmable performance in a waterproof design. An important distinction is that the Sidewinder 3 ESC itself is sensorless, so the motor's sensored capability cannot be used with this ESC.

Recommended Applications

Castle recommends this combo for:

• 1/10 2WD Short Course Trucks — 2S LiPo with conservative gearing
• 1/10 2WD Stadium Trucks — 2S recommended
• 1/10 2WD Buggies — 2S recommended
• 1/10 On-Road Cars — 2S or 3S
• General bashing applications up to 5 lb ready-to-run weight

Limited 3S use is possible in suitable stadium truck and buggy applications, but Castle specifically warns that temperatures can rise quickly and conservative gearing is required.

⚠️ IMPORTANT – SENSORED MOTOR / SENSORLESS ESC

The included 1406 4600Kv motor is a sensored motor, but the Sidewinder 3 ESC does NOT support sensored operation.

Therefore, the motor operates sensorless when used with the included Sidewinder 3 ESC. A compatible sensored ESC would be required to use the motor's sensored functionality.

⚠️ BATTERY CONNECTOR REQUIRED

The Sidewinder 3 does not come ready with a battery connector installed. A compatible battery connector must be installed before operation.

Battery, battery connector, pinion gear, cooling fan, Castle Link programmer, vehicle, and other accessories are NOT included unless specifically listed above.

Although the ESC has a waterproof design, it is NOT intended to be operated while completely submerged.

Monitor motor and ESC temperatures carefully. Castle specifies that temperatures should never exceed 180°F.
